Utah 2: St. George/Edwards Fam Reunion

After the race, we showered and zoomed down to St. George. Literally. Their is a test speed area where the limit is 80mph. After 25 mph roads that dominate Kauai, with the occasional 50mph segment, going 80 is powerful.

We arrived in time to join the last night of the extended family reunion, catching up with aunts, uncles, and cousins Jill and Roger's picturesque home in St. George.

Sunday, we took an outing to the St. George temple, which actually turned into more of a photo session than anything else. It was fun seeing the cousins interact, especially now that we have a child in the mix.

The picture below demonstrates the need for our 24 month clothing shopping spree. Hello, belly button! Also, check out Logan rocking his shades. He was proud of himself.
Rachel is a natural with younger kids. She followed Zachary around the entire three days.
Rachel and Maddie hamming it up:
At the watering hole:
I adore Parker!
Monday morning, I showed off my lack-of tennis skills learned in my class, while observing the very adept Ryan and Karen rip up the courts. Brady and I have some work to do before we challenge you two!
Brynlee was the center of picture attention at this outing:We spent the afternoon swimming, and then prepped for a night on the town. We went to Tuachan Theater to see the live production of "Annie," while Mom and Dad generously stayed home with the little ones. The kids LOVED it, and we loved it as much as you can possibly love "Annie."
Best part: Stage setting
Worst part: ANYTIME the orphans sang together

Other reunion highlights/notables:
  • Comedy night, featuring Ryan quoting segments of Seinfeld and Brian Regan
  • Our two big scares: Scott jumping at us from outside during the famous "Alien story" and making Natalie cry; and Natalie, Kristen, and I almost getting hit by a car while walking in the middle of the road late at night (imagine that!).
  • Watching slides from Mom and Dad's collection--I can't believe it's the first time we've done that!
  • Watching Scott's video of Grandma and Grandpa Edwards pictures
  • Hearing tid-bits of Scott's children's book, and the kids' anticipation and excitement with the story.
