Everything in Between: Maycember

I bragged that Owen hadn't missed preschool for illness almost the entire year, and then he missed almost all of May for colds, and then a reaction to medication.
He was a pretty happy dude overall, though.
Saying goodbye to Tricia and Justin Hier at Kekaha:

Weekend forts:
Annual BBQ with the bros and families:

Zachary does his best to dodge photos but willingly posed nearly-naked with Owen for this one.  I love it when forgotten toys reemerge.
Science experiments with Owen:
We made several trips to Lydgate on the way home from piano.

Owen and I took a few last beach hikes and excursions before summer.

I did all of Teacher Appreciation for Koloa Elementary this year--gift cards, breakfast each day, and handwritten thank you cards.
STEM night at Koloa Elementary was a hit: light sabers, rockets, eyeball dissection, oobleck, and robots.  Fantastic night!

Kate finished off her soccer season: love these girls and this outstanding team!  They played only one other game against girls and the rest of their opponents were boys.  They won all but two games (and one was a tie).

Macember means naps in the car.
A thank you to Kate's teacher, who was dieting and didn't want chocolate:
After Zac's recognition for Reflections, it was fun to see Kate get recognized for her peace poem that won for the school.  She was recognized by the mayor of Kauai and even won a special overall prize.

May involved a lot of fruit popsicles.
I love the groove of playdates.

Brady worked into the night making us into superheros for a laugh.  The kids loved it.

Stroller naps are a think in Maycember, too.
Zac's soccer team finished out their season and tournament, too.  It was a tough season but he liked his team and coach.

Kauai Ninja Warrior: Zac won it all and Kate loved it.

So proud of him for trying pegboard.

Brady bought himself a pegboard for the garage after this event.
Owen's perch:

Last day of preschool:

This had me rolling: The Edwards are not only "asome" but also envious, defensive, wary, and discreet.
80s party at the Clarks: we costumed up, ate 80s foods like jello, ..., and watched, "..."

I did Pedal to the Meadow for the second year in a row and beat my time from last year by 17 minutes!  I still scored 3rd place in my age group and was smoked by these ladies.

Kate's long locks:
