Caleb showed us one more way to enjoy summer: catching chickens. Playdates with a few friends is how I've ended up with my hands glued to the steering wheel again, but I'm happy to see my kids socializing again after so many months.
We still have vacant beaches, although Hawaii's governor said the island is opening up to tourism without the 14 day quarantine on August 1. We've had a few big swells and the kids are back into boogie boarding again after a surfing-only hiatus.
I joke that we go to the beach so Owen can run.
Rainbow shower trees in bloom. A friend called these Fairy Tale Trees and it's the perfect description.
More stay-at-home church,
We've picked up on new food projects again after a break. I started buying fresh, local shrimp and the experience was alarming at first to pop the heads off and remove their packets of poop. They are so much better than Kirkland brand, though!
Zachary with a batch of perfect dinner rolls!
Sunday strolls on deserted cliffs.
Zac's face in this picture demonstrates how much he likes physical affection,
Huge waves that day.
Zachary tolerates it from time to time.
Couch flipping is part of most playdates with Shay.
Owen earned his mini board and takes it on every trip now. He regularly comments that "I catch barrels with it."
Hooray for Baby Conrad! Nicole has been nice enough to let us come play with baby C several times. Owen loves on him for 10 minutes, then runs off to play with Ivy while Kate snuggles him.
Kate is so excited to babysit.
Nothing like a brand new baby to make your babies look gigantic.
One more month of summer to go!
