Her teacher says she is a leader in the classroom. She persists through difficult piano sessions and addition homework. She reads chapter books.
If she had her way, there would be a playdate everyday. She attracts friendships with her kind and tolerant demeanor. She seems to get along with everyone. Her little Kinder friends congregate around her after school. The boys chase her at soccer games. She plays house and teacher constantly.
She makes up dances constantly and loves to wail "Moana" songs at the top of her lungs. "I AM MOOOOAAAAAANNNNNNNNAAAAAA" never fails to crack us up. It is so endearing and without inhibition.
The other day, she told me that instead of being a doctor or teacher, maybe she just wanted to stay home and be a mom and not go to work, because "playing with Owen is so fun!" Cringe-worthy and also adorable.
Kate did really well for her birthday this year. It turns out when you are on the mainland for 3 weeks without the ability to do anything physical, you shop a whole, whole lot. It also turns out that there are really cute clothes for 6 year old girls in Utah.
This girls busts with personality.
Owen fell in love with a vacuum in Utah so he also banked out by my surgication.
Her favorite present--a Moana dress. Suddenly, we were back to the Moana soundtrack, replacing the Trolls music we've listened to for months.
She requested strawberry shortcake for her birthday.
I returned home late Tuesday night and had 12 kids at my house Friday night to party Trolls-style with colorful hair and rainbow themes.
Trolls cotton candy cones.
The pooping relay, stolen from the Edwards family reunion. This ties in with the donkey poop in the movie.
Bergens chasing trolls.
Wrapping each other in spider webs, Poppy-style.The best activity was the dance party. The kids were so into it.
So grateful for Kate, and so grateful for her cute friends.
